<...> „Our acquaintance with Beatričė Grincevičiūtė continued for twenty seven years. My wife and I used to call on the singer, she had been coming to our family celebrations, sometime on other occasions, we also used to meet at Maria and Henrik Horodnichiai‘s place, at concerts. In summer, we had been associating a lot in Palanga.
Beatričė attracted people not only with her extraordinary musical talent (she had absolute pitch), subtle performance of classical repertoire and folk songs, but also with her literary erudition, strength of mind and optimism. I wanted to depict at least a shade of that unique person in my notes. A great part of the memoirs consists of diary extracts. I am writing Beatričė‘s name as a literary pseudonym. “ (Author, „Foreword“) <...>
