Prior to the Conference, it generated a great interest of friends of Brodsky and literaturologists involved in exploration of his creative inheritance. Reports and speeches were presented for three days: on 31 May, the solemn opening of the Conference took place at the hall of Vilnius Municipality; on 02 June, at piano.lt hall, the programme was dedicated to literary studies; and on 03 June, the programme was dedicated to memorialistics at the House-Museum of Venclova Family under the Directorate of Vilnius Memorial Museums. At the Conference, well-known scientists, such as Prof Dr Bengt Jangfeldt (Sweden), Dr Faith Wigzell (Great Britain), Dr Beata Pawletko (Poland), Dr Denis Akhapkin (Russia) and so on, were presented; in addition, the foundresses of Brodsky Museum in Sankt-Petersburg – Nina Popova, the Director of Sankt-Petersburg A. Akhmatova Museum, and Irina Borodina, the Custodian of the Room of I. Brodsky at the said Museum, - were presented as well. We also listened to reports of Lithuanian literaturologists Prof Dr Tomas Venclova and Dr Donata Mitaitė. The memorialistic theme was disclosed by Liudmila Sergeyeva (Russia), Prof Dr Mikhail Milchik (Russia), Natalia Woroszylska (Poland), Prof Dr Hab Ramūnas Katilius, Pr. Morkus and others.
An exposition of drawings and manuscripts of Joseph Brodsky (copies of items from the archives of Katilius family) was arranged at Vilnius Municipality and Russian Culture Center. Faddey Perlov and Lina Perlova, book publishers from Sankt-Petersburg, presented two new books – “Venice of Joseph Brodsky” by Mikhail Milchik (Sankt-Petersburg) and Joseph Brodsky in Lithuania” by Yakov Klots (New Haven); the Author of the latter arranged two excursions – “Brodsky in Vilnius” and “Brodsky in Kaunas”. At the House-Museum of Venclova Family, the preem of the movie about Joseph Brodsky “The Conversation with the Celestial” by Roman Liberov, the young documentary film director from Moscow, in Lithuania and discussion on it took place.   
On 01 June, all participants of the Conference visited Kaunas where Prof. Tomas Venclova was provided the regalia of Honorary Doctor during the solemn sitting of the Senate of Vytautas Magnus University at the Aula Magna of Vytautas Magnus University.
